Abstract

Cutaneous metastases from internal carcinomas are relatively rare. The frequency of metastases to the skin varies from 0.5-4.4%.
We report a case of cutaneous metastasis suspected to originate from stomach cancer.
A 44-year-old female, who had an episode of total gastrectomy under diagnosis of stomach cancer three years ago, had multiple painless erythematous nodules on the face ad neck for one year. Histologic findings shows atypical anaplastic cell
infiltration
at the dermis and subcutaneous tissues. Cells with hyperchromatic and laterally displaced nuclei were recognized. PAS staining shows positive reactions within the cells of gland like structure. She died twelve months after the appearance of the
cutaneous lesions.(Kor J Dermatol 1994 ; 32(6) : 1068~1071)
